YAY for overly critical people! I'm the same way with stuff I make, but atleast you realize your sword is awesome and will accept the comments on it XD... (also couldn't you just make a cross shaped cut in the center piece, and have it just slide off the blade, rotate, then be put back on... or is the loose-ness not a problem?) I'd just be worried the loose-ness that allows it to twist would make it too loose to stay in place AFTER being rotated... please explain (I'm making one myself and planned on doing what I offered about the cross thing...just wondering if that would work better, or if yours works well... cause I'd like to avoid the hassle of taking it off, and putting it back on...) Pm me if you feel like it, I'd love to find out how to got this to work... I imagine a sort of (X) <-- double pie piece cut that allows the tsuka (correct term? lol) to twist. Sorry about the length of the comment, I'm just excited to know how you managed the shift XD

 weee!!! i'm really glad another artist appreciates my craft!
thanks for the :+fav: & the :+devwatch:!!! :D :D :D
on to the other concerns:
i made use of 3 pcs tsuba & made the middle one a bit loose just enough to rotate it. the upper & lower tsuba are fixed. that's basically how it's done...
the rotating middle part is just a little bit loose so the paint won't get scratched due to the revolving parts. But idealy, a pin lock should be provided there. a metal strip just as thin as a toothpick to secure the 3pcs in place. :D
for the other technique you were suggesting, i think that'll work good too, but just as you stated, it'll be trouble for the sword wielder to be taking it off & back on from time to time.
either way, as long as the general look of the sword doesn't suffer, it'll all be good then!

& no apology necessary for the long comment...
i luv comments here!!! :D :D :D
& i'll always be glad to answer them!!!
Many thanks again! ;)

Many thanks to you too! I guess I'll just try the cross thing FIRST, cause I'm just a bit worried about the piece rotating on its own... but if the cross is too much of a burden I'll make a sort of "double pie piece" out of the X (or +) design as I stated before, where it will rotate in one direction, and fit into a grove there, or just put the cut out piece back in to secure it :) I'll post it once I make it :3 lol I'm terrible at explaining. but anyways AWESOME SWORD! and I can't wait to see more from you! XD... yeppers I got my idea now... lol
all this talking helped me straighten it out in my mind lol! THANKS! ^^
